EXPERIENCE

Paul Edinburgh graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1990, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement/Police Science. He attended the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Police Academy and after graduating joined the Texas City Police Department in 1993 serving the community there for over 24 years. During his time there, Paul Edinburgh rose through the ranks eventually becoming a Detective and then supervisor where he served out the remaining 16 years in Texas City. 

Upon retiring from Texas City Police Department in 2017, Paul went to work for Galveston County Constable Jimmy Fullen in Precinct 2 where he was quickly promoted to Lieutenant within 2 years. In February 2023, upon Constable Fullen resigning to run for County Sheriff, Paul Edinburgh was unanimously appointed by the Galveston County Commissioners Court to fulfill the remainder of Constable Fullen’s term through the end of 2024.

Commitment

Paul Edinburgh has spent his entire life in Galveston County. He graduated from Texas City High School in 1985 and returned home to begin his career in Law Enforcement after graduating from college. 

After joining the Galveston County Constables in Precinct 2 and meeting many of the residents in the Santa Fe area, Paul and his wife Kellie enjoyed the hometown feel of the community and moved their family over to Santa Fe in 2020. Since then, Paul has become a part of the community in various roles such as serving on the boards of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, Santa Fe ISD Education Foundation, and Hitchcock ISD Education Foundation. In addition, becoming elected as the Galveston County Republican Party Precinct Chair for Precinct 428 in 2022.

Dedicated Family Man

When Paul met his wife Kellie after college, he never looked back. 28 years and 4 children later, his response when asked about his family is always “God has truly blessed me.” Paul and his family have attended the same Traditional Roman Catholic Church for 45 years. Some of his hobbies include yard work, woodworking/furniture building, bee keeping, cooking and camping with his family.
